Their Patchouli and Peppermint essential oil truly is incredible. These two essential oils are a benchmark because of how they smell. This told me that there was more to these oils than just “aroma” to cover up activities that do not promote full health like I had remembered from my trips to Portland, OR with my parents watching hippies doing their thing. No--- it may not produce flashbacks from your last Pink Floyd concert but will keep you calm, connected and collected, while protecting your body. Believe me-- there are a lot of companies out there doing this wellness gig just for a piece of the pie and not for the partnered growers, or their customers throughout the world. doTERRA did it differently and I noticed right away with these two essential oils and it peaked my interest. There are many discrepancies across the internet. Much of the untruth about the purity of doTERRA essential oils stems from a website that was anonymously published by a competitor of doTERRA. The accusation was that doTERRA’s peppermint had a synthetic ingredient called “ethyl vanillin” in it. Thankfully, the truth of this website came out and the website has since been taken down.
Dr. Pappas, a world-renowned chemist, that did the third-party testing for doTERRA and other companies at the time, of doTERRA peppermint essential oil, stated:
“As you can see from the report in which we looked at everything down to 0.01%, there is no finding of ethyl vanillin in the oil, despite what was claimed on certain other websites. So I guess it comes down to a matter of trust and who one chooses to believe on this issue. Before making that decision on who to believe, however, it would at least be prudent for one to become educated about many aspects of the report which claims to have found ethyl vanillin.”
2. Effective
Fast acting, safe and cost-effective, essential oils made sense for a family like ours who are on the go a lot. With 5-children, doTERRA has been an answer to our call endless times in various experiences.
Candles were ruining our home for their aroma. We found that candles were causing a film on our walls, our clothes had a funny smell and a few of us had developed a cough of some kind.
